Woking Age Concern launches 30k urgent fundraising appeal
We are launching an URGENT APPEAL to raise £30,000 in the next three months. If we are successful, this means we can continue to operate for at least another six months but will allow us time to look at how we develop alternative revenues and funding, as we emerge from COVID-19.
We are a team of 4 part time staff and trustee group all incredibly passionate about the role our charity plays in our local community. Please help us to raise as much money as possible so we can continue to look after and support the older and vulnerable people in our area. They need us to be their 'eyes' and 'ears' in this ever changing world.
As we make tentative steps out of restrictions, the overall cost of the pandemic is still not known, but what is clear is that those already isolated, those already vulnerable and those who were required to shield during the majority of 2020, will need additional support now more than ever!
The pandemic has affected everyone, and Woking Age Concern has not been immune. Even though the charity continued to support its clients throughout the lockdowns, the charity's small cash reserves and fundraising took a major hit.
The Trustees and employees of Woking Age Concern believe that we must act now and act fast to secure the long-term future of this local charity.
If you are able to help, thank you. Every bit helps.
If you aren't able to donate but can share this news, please do or if you are interested in running a fundraising event for us - some ideas can be found here.
